Structure for Repetition (not Representation)

with 5 blackboard panels

The second structure Structure for Repetition (not Representation) consists of a chain of door-sized panels, connected by wooden triangle structures on top from which half-open black curtains are suspended. In each panel a space is designated for an image, however, the images – in the form of five or six drawings on blackboards, depicting a chain of transformations of the body through historical representations – have been displaced to the wall of the exhibition space. Throughout The Body in Crisis this structure will be adapted: for each completed work related to one of the six historical events a high gloss coloured panel with a collage will be made. The black board drawings will become more layered through erasure and addition.
